The friction radius at the clamped parts ra is required with an applied torsional moment MT in order to calculate the necessary clamping force FKQ (R2) for the frictional connection.
In the case of a clearly defined circular ring contact surface, the friction diameter must be specified centrally between the inner and outer diameters. If the plates are in flat contact without a clearly defined contact surface, the friction diameter is assumed to be centered on the deformation cone.
