The sealing area AD is at most equal to the interface area minus the through hole for the bolt.
It is used to calculate the required minimum clamp load FKP for a given sealing function (R2). In addition, for eccentrically tensioned and loaded bolted connections, it is required to determine the minimum clamp load against a gaping FKA (R2).
The following options are available:
- User input, i.e. direct numerical specification of the sealing surface.
- Automatically determined, i.e. the area is calculated from the interface area minus the through hole.
