Three strategies can be selected for the distribution of the rolling positions:
- Harmonic distribution
This strategy is determined by the program. The rolling positions are distributed as described in the final report (seeSTIRAK, in German), taking the characteristics of the gearbox structure and the individual tooth meshes into consideration. The program independently determines the number and position of the rolling positions; a minimum of 6 and maximum of 15 rolling positions are determined.
- Harmonic distribution with specification of the number
In this distribution strategy, the positions of the individual rolling positions for the overall gear unit are also determined by the program, taking into account the characteristics of the gear unit design and the individual tooth contacts. However, the number of rolling positions to be used can be specified.
- Linear distribution with specification of the number
In this type of rolling distribution, the gear unit design and gear characteristics are ignored and a user-defined number of rolling positions are distributed linearly in the field of action.
