The permissible assembly preload F_Mzul can be read out for a selected bolt from tables of VDI 2230 (tables A1, A2, A3, A4) with an utilization factor v of 0.9 of the minimum yield strength R_p0.2min or calculated directly (R7) with any specification of the utilization factor.

Acc. to VDI 2230, calculation (R7) based on bolt geometry, thread friction, yield strength and the degree of utilization.
