The required minimum clamp load for a sealing function FKP takes the seal into account when calculating the required minimum clamp load FKerf (R2).
The following options are available:
No gasket, i.e. there is no seal in the load flow of the bolted joint for which a clamp load is necessary.
Gasket with internal pressure, then there is a seal and the clamp load for the sealing function is calculated with the maximum internal pressure pimax to be sealed and the sealing surface AD.
User specified, direct numerical input of the required minimum clamp load for the sealing function FKP.
In the following, a sealing is shown on the left side, which is not in the force flow of the bolted joint and is therefore irrelevant in the bolt calculation. On the right side, however, the sealing is in the force flow and should be taken into account in the design and calculation of the bolted joint.
