The factor in tooth depth direction and the factor in face width direction specify the relative size of the tooth flank to be calculated in the manufacturing simulation. By increasing these factors, a better representation of the marginal areas of the tooth flank can be achieved. However, this is only possible within narrow limits that depend on the manufacturing kinematics.
Default values:
Factor in tooth depth direction = 1.03
Factor in face width direction = 1.03
This means that, by default, points in the kinematic grid are simulated approx. 3% beyond the boundary at the toe, heel, and tooth tip. An increase up to 10 % is possible for many bevel gear geometries.
